JJ's Fourth Birthday Party

JJ is FOUR!
I can't believe it...I still remember meeting JJ as a chubby baby for the first time in Seattle...what a cutie. But he's growing up now and into Star Wars and Cars 2 like so many of his other buddies...so his mommy threw him a fun Cars 2 party! Julie, you are amazing, esp. since I know you planned this party in under two weeks
Enjoy~

Gratitude

What are you thankful for?

I wanted to write something profound and deep on gratitude, but it's late, my husband is currently snoring loudly on the couch and I'm also simultaneously thinking about how I should make the stuffing for our Thanksgiving dinner (nuts or no nuts?). So I'll tell a story instead and throw in some pics...sound good? Good.

So Naomi had to finish the sentence, "I am thankful for..." at preschool this week. When I picked up her worksheet, I was curious to see what she wrote...will she say she's thankful for Jesus? For her mommy and daddy? For Noelle?

N to the Izz-O my friends.

My daughter's sheet said, "I am thankful for MY PINK FLOWER DRESS."
Makes me chuckle.

Me: So, why did you pick your pink dress as the thing you're thankful for?
Naomi (shrugging): I dunno, I really like my dress mommy!
Me: So... what did your other friends share about what they're thankful for?
Naomi (giggling): Well, C**** said he is thankful for his underwear! Isn't that funny mommy? He's thankful for his underwear!!

Kids are so honest. Silly as it sounds, there is a deeper truth there somewhere... don't under-appreciate the seemingly little things in life, the things we take for granted everyday.
Thank God for it all.
I'm thankful for my underwear too C****, good job for teaching us not to ignore the basics.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone~

Kim Family Session

Loved this session. I have to confess, I'm a softie when it comes to a pair of cute little girls. Well, if you know me, I'm a softie anyways, but throw in a pair of sisters, and I'm done.

Christina asked if we could take some photos inside their house before going out to a park - I love it when people suggest this...if you think about it, young kids spend most of their time in the house... usually making a mess of it honestly... but someday your kids will outgrow their cribs, their mobiles, their cute baby decorations and will go from crawling on your floors to sprinting around on them... so capturing your house in all its baby-fied glory is a good thing.

Christina also happens to be a VERY talented sewer and handsews beautiful dolls with her older sister for their business, Lil Sprinkles. Their dolls have been featured all over the web and even in In Style magazine - W O W. I always love seeing women use their creative gifts to bless others!
Visit the Lil Sprinkles Etsy Shop and Lil Sprinkle's Facebook page to see more of their work~

Day at the Park

Wow, what a boring title... but that's what we did! Just one of those family days where we get lunch and go to the park...so simple, but my girls love it.

If you've been following my blog, then you know how much Noelle  LOVES the swing... I've taken many pictures of her swinging away throughout the months, often posting them here and there on this site...because honestly, after pushing a baby for over 45 min. in a swing, that's what I have to do to keep sane.
Anyways, she's been swinging on the 'big girl' swing for a while, but I was always afraid she'd lose her grip and fall back, so I always pushed her really lightly while still holding onto her. Note to moms: swinging a child this way ensures a sore back and grumpy child.

Well this particular day she wanted to swing just as high as her big sis...so up she went....and I realized, she can actually do it now! But I never would've known, if I just kept hanging on. Oh the life lessons to be learned from this sorta stuff.
Anyways, after I realized she wasn't going to become the world's smallest human rocket, I decided to take out my camera.

Enjoy~

A look back

Just posted photos from Joshua's first birthday party and realized that I didn't post some more images from his one year session....so here are several favorites.
J is actually 11 months old here, but these were taken in preparation for his party. Love this age~
